The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes the full suite of features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range with Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in the world, and has a ton of customization options. It also gives you notifications when a door is left open, when the fridge or freezer needs defrosting and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice it GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill which is a feature that is available in a few GE refrigerators that allows users to select the number of cups they would like to dispense. The fridge displays a countdown to display how much water is left, but it's not as helpful as Precise fill.

The top shelf on the right side can be folded to provide more space for taller items. You'll also find a full-width drawer for deli and an inside water dispenser.

This refrigerator has a freezer with an ice maker making it simple to transfer frozen ice whenever you need it. The freezer also features innovative design features like sliding drawers that help you sort your things. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food and a separate one for ice.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal choice for those who want to combine the benefits of a French-door fridge's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. It has a capacity that is superior to counter-depth models and also cools evenly. It's also a little less than the top counter depth refrigerator with an ice maker, which makes it a great choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good choice for those looking for a french door fridge no plumbing-door fridge that won't break the budget. It's a basic refrigerator which may not be as eye-catching as its rivals, but it still has enough features to make it a an excellent choice. Its most important feature, the adjustable temperature drawer, helps to keep food like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge ice maker as well as a water dispenser.

Another feature that is worth mentioning is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you direct a portion of your fridge's cooling power into the area so it can be used to store food items which need extra attention. This feature can be adjusted using an outside slider that is located inside the drawer. You can also use this to adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge though I've found that adjusting the general settings tends produce better results than specific ones.

During my tests, the refrigerator's temperatures stayed fairly consistent across different areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the refrigerator did not differ significantly from 38 degrees. That's a good performance, but it doesn't quite make it into the top ten in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be paired with a smart thermostat to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.
