World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to increase an item's gear score up to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like a perfectly rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats like crit chance, attack damage PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also come with an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. In addition, many weapons have a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a single unit. This bonus may exceed the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it is required to use the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a positive thing, but it can also have negative consequences. For items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them could make them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to boost their performance. This will increase the defense of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These will increase their required strength and agility. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may reroll to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats it will gain when upgraded in addition to their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button within the item menu with the arrows that circle. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor could make a huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poisons and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult areas. The more defense your character has, the more value you get out of each point of health you have, so it's important to improve your armor as much as possible.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and to unlock each fountain, you must complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required for each will vary. It is possible to use anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For example, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a good-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few friends.

You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or spell power. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing at the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also unlock some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have a few upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to get around a few monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, provide a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to enhance their effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be earned by making them on a craft table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade items, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to select the potions that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. The upgrade items of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP total.

Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions, for example, now have a duration that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display. The table for potion is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be combined in cauldrons. The same applies to using a potion within the cauldron that is filled. This will draw out the potion and refill the bottle.

Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made with dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The table of potions is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but isn't important as a thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to symbolize friendship or affection, especially between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their status.

The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It can be done by a player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl of the previous one, and will include an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Once the old Trinkets are no longer useful, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players and are an extremely popular alternative to gold.

In general players should make upgrades to their top-priority items first. This usually means the Best item upgrade-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other pieces of gear that they will not be replacing in the near future (for instance an earring or cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade, players must also be aware of their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players, then they should upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.

Once they have become useless, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1percent bonus. However, a re-upgrade can destroy the old trinket, unless it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than buying a new one.
